My new blog (but Wellabe isn't going anywhere!)

I have a new blog that will start on the 1st of July (so that's next Sunday), and I'd be more than happy to have my Wellabe people visiting my new blog as well!

I will write it in finnish, but there will also be translations to english. All you finnish peeps understand the blog name, which is: 60 / kesä. (that means 60 / summer).

For more details about what the blog is about, check out the blog's FB-site: https://www.facebook.com/60Kesa

And on Sunday, you can go and read about my first summer dream-day here: http://60kesa.blogspot.com

On the FB-page you can read the blog's idea but to sum it up, it's about summer, fun stuff and how to make all that fun happen! (...while on a low-budget, I might add)

See you there on the new blog! (And here, of course!)

move on girl

This is my theme song for this day, loving the soul-vibes... Every time I hear this, I get this feeling of going towards new things and leaving troubles and other not-that-great things behind...

And by the way, this song was playing yesterday on my earphones as I passed a building where I used to live. For a while I really hoped I would still live there, but then I just thought... you know, something better must be coming.

Moving on.

cleaning day

I've been cleaning. Like really cleaning.

That's because I have had a lot of boxes still un-opened - and it's been months (and some more months..) since I moved. I only opened maybe four or five of the boxes after the move and have been living without the rest of my stuff (and doing just fine!), the rest of the stuff being the remaining 15 boxes.

But anyway, yesterday I started my box-project - finally. And that meant going through the boxes, throwing out stuff, putting some into recycling, giving some away and soon selling some of them... And wow! Feels so good!

I really recommend getting rid of all your extra-stuff. Clears up space, not only in your home but in your head (and heart) too. Your more open to things when you have space and air around you, believe you me... (feng shui isn't that far fetched)

So, I am now officially declaring a new season of simplicity in my life! Starting from the boxes (still around me...but not for long) and then moving onto other things!

Hurray for all things simplified!

Yummy Monday, part 4

Remember this one guys? The very first post ever!

Well, now I am re-posting it under the "Yummy Monday"-series, because this salad just rocks. I loooove avocadoes, it's one of my "if you could pick just one food you'd eat for the rest of your life..."-food alternatives.

So here you go, one of my favorite salads (and I'll leave the pic from the original post here too, cause I just like the boots and the print on the wall):

the tip of the day / the beauty salad

what you need for this skin-beautifying salad:

an avocado

a mango

(nuts, if you want)

- Cut the avocado and the mango, mix together & enjoy! (and feel the va-va-voom effects on your skin as well as your mood)

I have a new hobby

I really dig this day because today I had the time to start something I have been planning to do for ages: to make something pretty with my own two hands.

So, I started creating headbands! (plus I made a cake too... but it wasn't that pretty! Though tasty..)

I am an eternal lover of all headthingie-accessories, but also often running into the problem of not finding exactly my kind of head-beautybombs - or if I do they cost like 200 bucks - so, why not just make them?

And making these headband-creations really got my creative-mojo running! I highly recommend finding that something that makes you wanna stay up all night doing that special thing of yours, that you see dreams of and that you just love doing... Your thang, baby!

Now I'm off, gotta get back to my craft "room"! (also known as my floor)

I can hear the sound of flip-flops

Soon I will officially start my holiday-season. Then I am gonna, among other things;

  • wear my hair on a messy bun 24/7
  • have my shades on non-stop (sunshiny weather - I am counting on you)
  • have too many bangles on my wrists (I try to have a more "reasonable" amount at work. Boring, I know!)
  • strut around in my flip-flops and a flowy color-dress
  • dance, sing, hula-hoop
  • stay up all night and wake up early

Summer-holiday, I am SO ready.

ps. I think I don't need to mention that great music is also included in my summer-plans... so I am gonna dig through all my music sources and dive into new great songs... maybe also some from her:

Do I smell a party over here?

Wow, it has been only 10 months of blogging here on Wellabe and so many things have already happened and are happening right now. (in my life and here on this blog)

The first and the most important thing I want to tell you about is also shown on the video above... Wellabe has had 5000 visitors since I started blogging. *insert a stupidly wide smile and a happy booty-shake!*

I started the blog as I began to study nutrition - I wanted to write about these wellness and health topics that I was learning so many cool things of - and mix those topics with a nice blend of beauty-posts. (you can't take the eternal color-lover & make-up artist out of a girl)

I still want to keep these topics in a major role on this blog, but as I am a believer in shaking things up every now and then - there are new things to come... Nice ones!

But I just want to say, one more time, thank you for visiting Wellabe!

♥ Viola

If you are a tweeter, Wellabe is now also on Twitter.

Yummy Monday (on a Tuesday), part 3

Yummy Monday recipe is here - finally. So, here it is; a summery pasta that is so simple and oh-so-good.

This pasta-recipe is really easy to mix and match with your own favorite ingredients; for example, you can change the pasta to soba noodles if you want a gluten-free meal.

So this recipe is just something I made up from my little head - the key being the salt, lemon, herbs and cheese... Add a green salad to this meal - and you are good to go.

Summery Pasta

some whole-wheat pasta
1 lemon
a piece of Grana Padano-cheese (I used a goat milk-one)
some fresh basil
good salt (salt flakes or a grainy salt is great here!)
some black pepper
a bit of butter

- Cook the pasta.

- Put the pasta onto your plates, toss in some cheese, the basil and a bit of butter.

- Add some salt, pepper and squeeze of lemon to make it picture perfect.

And a great song to listen to while loving your pasta-dinner...Smooth living.

city-love & new ideas

If I get too worked up with my restless mind that comes up with new ideas constantly, I put on my "twinkly" lights and some music... then it's time to jam the stress off!

Right now my head is buzzing because it's so full of ideas! For this blog - and for my life in general... So it was really nice to get a breather as I was staying for a few days at a friend's apartment right in the heart of Helsinki for a few days. It felt like a vacation. The sea, sunshiny bliss and the city right there outside my door. Nice.

So now my mind's all charged up again - new fun projects o'hoy! I am coming...

PS. Today's Yummy Monday-recipe coming up later tonight, yum-mee...

PPS. Remember I told you about a blog-party that's about to happen soon on this site? Well stay tuned - some video-action coming up this week!

Sometimes it's good to just go the wrong way so that you'll know your right path the next time... So go and screw things up! Make a mess, realize that you are in the wrong place at the wrong time and be hopelessly out of the map.

Cause without those getmeouttahere-moments, you never know how great it feels when you find your own way...

♥  Have a great weekend you all!

PS. It is soon a time of celebration here on this blog... more about this in a few days!

sorry for the silence guys - but I am back!

I haven't had the time or the energy to write for a while - but now back in action. And to make up the missed Yummy Monday-recipe that I didn't post this week, I will share one of my all-time favorite superhealthy&yummy-recipes with you!

Here you go:

One Rawsome Apple Pie

Pie crust:
4 dl soaked almonds / or other nuts (pecans, cashews...)
1 tbs almond/coconut oil
5 fresh dates (or 5 dried plums)
a bit of nutmeg
2 tsp cinnamon (I used more...I could marry cinnamon!)
a hint of nice quality salt
1 tbs of honey

The filling:
1-2 apples, diced
1 banana, diced
2 dates (or the plums again)
1 tsp cinnamon

Decorations:
2-3 apples, sliced
(cinnamon according to taste)

1. Put the almonds into a blender - work the blender until the almonds become a fine powder.
2. Add in the oil, dates, spices and salt. Mix up again.

3. Add honey.
4. Put the pie crust into your pie mold.

5. Put all the ingredients of the filling into your blender. 1-2-3- Blend!
6. Add filling on top of the crust.
7. Decorate with sliced apples and sprinkle some cinnamon on top! Voila!
 8. Let set in the fridge overnight.

9. ENJOY

Sweet 'n' Salty Raw Brownie-recipe

Monday's recipe was such a simple one, so... to bring more yummy flavors into your week, here's one of my favorite recipes at the moment: a sweet and salty raw chocolate brownie. Get ready to fly through a chocolate heaven while eating this... (And because I am a total eyeballer when it comes to measuring things when I cook, this really is a stretch for me to write recipes like this... That's how much I like you guys!)

The Sweet 'n' Salty Raw Chocolate Brownie
makes one big brownie/two smaller ones

(no cooking required!)

You'll need:

Oats, about 6 tablespoons (preferably soaked)
Nuts/seeds, 2 tablespoons (soaked) / OR milled nut-mix (this is what I use, see pic above)

Sesameseeds (great calcium source btw), 1 tablespoon
Dried fruit, 1 tablespoon
Virgin coconut oil, 1 tablespoon
Lucuma, 1 tablespoon
Raw cacao powder, 1 big tablespoon
Cinnamon, according to your tastebuds
Himalayan pink salt / good sea salt, a good pinch

- Mix everything well in your blender.

- Mold into a brownie-shape.

- Decorate with banana & some fresh apple puree. (makes it more fresh)

PS. You can also put the brownie into the fridge - gets kind of a hard consistency pretty quickly - then you can dice it into small chocolatey cubes & enjoy as a candy-like treat OR crumble it on top of your ice cream... Uh-huh yum-mee!

 Enjoy you Wednesday guys!

Great news! Now you can follow Wellabe with Bloglovin! How did I not know about this site before? Makes reading your favorite blogs way easier.

So hoping that I will get a lotta lovin to Wellabe through this new cool site!

And then off to show you a few snapshots of my day today. It was a special one (will tell more later) so I went and did lots of fun stuff to celebrate... here you go, some moments from my day in pictures... Including a surprisingly tasty green tea-drink, visiting a museum (the shots from the children's side - in case you wonder) and eating fresh pineapple with fresh strawberries and blueberries... Now feeling very artsy and summery at the same time! That's what a bit of museum meets pineapple with berries can do to a girl!

Yummy Monday series continues

This really ain't a tricky recipe, cause it's such a simple one. But it deserves its place as the second post on the Yummy Monday-series because it is one of my favorite summer foods by far. So here you go ladies & gentlemen:

The Amazing Asparagus

you'll need:

asparagus
water
good quality salt
butter
(lemon juice)

- Cook the asparagus in boiling water until al dente. (so not until mooshy!) Place the wonderful green sticks of joy onto your plate. A pinch of salt on top plus a bit of butter (and a drizzle of lemon juice if you want)... and oh brother, how can something SO simple be SO good?

Happy days with your asparaguses!

So okay, I am a girl who most of the time has a happy-grin on my face and I may seem like it's all good even when all things around me are kinda - well, not great... (or let's face it, sometimes just totally messed up)

But at times I have felt that some people don't see that the way you see things and life your life really is almost entirely up to your attitude, and not the circumstances. They might think I have it easier somehow or that I am not as "deep" as a person because of my joyful-image.

Well let me tell you.. Even though I may seem all smiles - I have had my heart broken, my dreams shattered and my spirit knocked down. And not just once.

But after all these I have chosen to stand up.

So even after the worst ever-date(s), or events that led to people leaving my life, or losing the apartment I so loved to live at... even after all that and a lot more - I really would not trade any experience or day away. Not even the über-crappy ones.

And when I think about it - I think I could be kinda lame without all the set-backs I've had... cause now I have balls to do what I want in my life, and just smile at the people who try to take me down in some way or think I am "a silly girl with unrealistic dreams", or something totally silly like that.

It's my life I have here. And you have your life. And it's in our hands to make them super-sparkly ones... (And there really is nothing stopping you - except you.)

So, shall we?

lots of love,
Viola
