it took my heart and all

I am thinking of starting a website/blog where I could share my love for music... Cause lately I've fallen in love with singing even more than I already was (though I thought it wouldn't be possible). And I am always mesmerized, again and again, by the power of music. How it touches a soul so weirdly deep... a big WOW for music!

And here's some great tunes to dance/hum/sing to on this lovely Christmas Day...

rocking it at 73

Meet Mimi Kirk, a woman who has won the title "Sexiest vegetarian over 50". And she ain't a 50 year-old, in fact she is... 73! (oh yes, for real)

Age is just a number - and she is my new idol!

Here she is (she's so cool and stylish!), making yummy things from chia seeds. If chia is not familiar to you, check it out here. Chia is a great source of omega 3 (more than in salmon), it has more antioxidants than fresh blueberries have, more calcium than 2% milk, plus loads of fiber.

"sweat is fat crying"

I love to exercise. But this hasn't always been the case - there's been many bumps in the road and lots of going through rough times with feeling bad about my body... But now I have found the joy of exercise... I love to run, jog, walk, do pilates, go to the gym, do the hula-hooping, dance - to name a few favorites... I literally feel like a new person every time after a great workout - like the feeling this morning as I did a one hour jog through the woods in the rain - felt like a superwoman afterwards!

Find your thing and go for it!

PS. And if you think you can't start exercising cause you are too old/out of shape/whatever - take a look at these amazing yogi-ladies & gentlemen!

icecream castles in the air

Another music-inspired post, but can't help myself. Because this track is so very much something that rings a bell in my heart right now... And I am a real hippie girl by heart so what could be a better tune to listen on a rainy Sunday than one of Joni's most beautiful tracks.

Bows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way

But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all

Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way

Oh but now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads, they tell me that I've changed
Well something's lost but something's gained
In living every day

I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

"do not tuck your best away in the drawers, in the back of the closet, in your heart. "

I was inspired by the text (got it from here) that you see below there and wanted to share it. Rock on. Life is now.

(And here's some of the things I treasure and that make every day dazzle:
the yellow wall I see when I wake up
a beautiful coffee mug I drink my morning coffee/tea from
my glitter buscard-holder
my L.A.M.B-wallet I bought from NY
good music (like Beyonce's song ^ - now, smirk at all the loosers who ever dared to dump you!)
singing (I kinda go to a state of instant bliss)
running (anywhere, anytime - works like magic for me)
long walks in fresh air (after rain is my fav!)
smiles from strangers
dancing
sunshine (especially now when it's almost never here - it's a wow when it comes!).... I could go on with my list but because I want you the read the great writing found below, I will let you do that now..)

"in honour of the fact that life is short: ecstatic sex, quitting, and wearing your best

wear your white shirts. get them pressed.

use your good dishes -- everyday.
shave on weekends.

do not wait for special occasions.
do not tuck your best away in the drawers, in the back of the closet, in your heart.
don't wait for holidays or invitations.

declare that your today is the special occasion.

call instead of emailing. (it feels so good to connect.)
go for coffee.

quit.
take care of it.

renounce your glory days. you've told all of those stories more than twice.
focus forward.

wear perfume for yourself. toss your only-wear-around-the-house clothes and let your good clothes graduate to around-the-house status.

intend to feel good all of the time.

write your book.

launch.

make ecstatic sex a priority. (this deliberateness will make you more creative, productive and generally gracious. on your death bed, you will think about all the amazing sex you had this lifetime.)

burn your to-do list.

write poetry. one a day.

make a point to be as encouraging as possible, as much as possible, to everyone possible.

don't look back.

if you feel like you're always failing, consider that this is part of being an artist. let it be a divine inclination. keep going.

enter.

leave.

eat real food.

often refuse to be in the presence of people who make you feel repressed, anxious, or pull your frequency down.

do not entertain haters.

send light to the haters.

give it away. you probably don't need it and someone else does.

turn off the tv.

let it be easy.

burn candles. during the day.

fall in love. with yourself. with the person you're with. with the persons in your orbit.
because no one is perfect, but you can let the love be perfect for the both of you.
because everyone -- everyone -- is a doorway to God.
because you can get there from here.

because life is short."
