Because I have noticed that the Wellabe-blog has been going towards a more personal posting-style - instead of being just a general source for fun stuff and wellness tips - I thought it would be fun to just tell you some (very) random facts about myself... Here we go! 

1. When I was a kid my dream was to become an opera singer, and I practised my future performances by calling to relatives and singing when they answered. (Yes, I was a bit... special)

2. I love avocados. Loooove love love.

3. I can make big decisions in an instant but sometimes it takes me ages to make up my mind with little ones - like what to buy from the supermarket.

4. I would like to be the girl who always has super pretty high heels. In reality, I hate the discomfort and always wear flats or my beloved Converse sneakers.

5. I would love to live in a big, buzzling city like New York but the other side of me wants to own a ranch on the countryside with loads of horses and dogs. 

6. When I was a teenager I thought I should try to be cooler and act like this mysterious girl that's kinda bad-ass - but nowadays I am more than okay with the fact that I am the smiley-girl who has no clue how to act mysterious. Or cool.

7. Here on this blog I am mostly presented as a wellness-geek, but I also have an eternal love affair with music, fashion and arts.

8. Eight is one of my favorite numbers. Why? No clue.

9. I love breakfast foods.

10. I persistantly want to believe in the good - in this world and in people. Even when all goes wrong.... I still know that the good stuff is there. Always. (Have you ever realized that the sky is NEVER actually grey? It's always blue - there just are times when the clouds hide the skies. But when you fly on an airplane, you'll see that even on the most darkest days, the sky is bright blue when you fly above the clouds...)

My American love-affairs

I am in love. And this is love with a capital L... The one who grabbed my heart in an instant the moment I came to the US.... goes by the name.... Whole Foods!

I know that all the US-people don't probably get this and are going "blaah" - but for us fresh food-geeks who don't have Whole Foods in our countries - WOW. And cause I am a health nut, this store is my heaven. There is a very very wide selection of health goodies and everything is so pretty, fresh and nicely placed plus the staff is super-nice... When are you coming to Finland, Whole Foods?

Okay then another new love of mine (and this love could get dangerous if I don't control myself)... 100% Peanut Butter! I kinda try to stay far away from this one, but I am gonna buy some back home when that time comes... But hey, I am in the US and peanut butter is like a national food so it's okay right?

Wellabe goes to USA , part 1

This beautiful sky was just what I needed after a bit of a rough evening... 

Oh my.

I am gonna save you all of the various not-so-fun details of my yesterday - of all the stuff that just went very wrong. 

But will just say that when you miss your flight to your final destination (after already travelling for hours and hours...and more hours) and all hotels are booked and you really don't wanna hang out over 24 hours at the airport cause you already feel like falling asleep standing... Then snap! Out of the blue, the nicest man EVER (who worked at the airport's information desk), comes and helps you find a hotel. 

And he really did more than he would have needed to do, plus he was super-friendly. And after the day I just had had, I could have hugged him forever! (which could have been weird)

So now I am here, in my hotel room, hanging out till I can catch my evening-flight. Sun is shining, so I am gonna go out for a little walk soon... I need some solar-energy! So off I go...

I didn't know that the Dulles Airport (where I did a lot of hanging out yesterday) is designed by Eero Saarinen. Whoop whoop, go Eero! (The building is beautiful - so much light!)
